Whether you’re picking up the fiddle for the first time, returning to music after years away, or looking to take your playing to the next level, I’d love to work with you.
I offer private and semi-private fiddle and violin lessons in Victoria, BC, as well as virtual lessons for students anywhere.
With more than 25 years as a professional fiddler, performer and educator, my teaching draws on a career spent performing, recording and touring across Canada and internationally. I currently teach in Victoria at Camosun College, the Victoria Conservatory of Music, and the Canadian College of Performing Arts, alongside my private teaching practice.
Fiddle Lessons
My fiddle lessons are rooted in traditional, Celtic and folk music, with an emphasis on developing great feel, rhythm and musicality — not simply playing the right notes.
Depending on your interests and experience, lessons can include:

Private & Semi-Private Lessons
Lessons are available in person in Victoria, BC as either private one-on-one sessions or semi-private lessons for two students who would like to learn together.
Semi-private lessons can be especially fun for friends, siblings, couples or musicians who want to explore repertoire and ensemble playing together.
Virtual Lessons
Not in Victoria? Online fiddle and violin lessons are also available.
Virtual lessons are a great option for students who want to explore fiddle repertoire, technique, style, arranging and musicality from wherever they live.
